Here’s What’s Happening this August in The Elder Scrolls Online

Join the celebration of Bethesda's 40th Anniversary and earn rewards.

A new month has arrived and that means new activities available in The Elder Scrolls Online. Today we take a look at what's happening in August.

Bethesda’s Anniversary

The Elder Scrolls Online's developer Bethesda Softworks is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. As part of the celebration, players get the chance to get their hands on 2,000 Trade Bars. Simply enter the code "Bethesda40." The promotion runs from July 30 to August 13.

During the same period, those interested in the game can buy it at a discount. Over on Steam, the Standard Edition is available at a 75% discount. Meanwhile, the Deluxe Edition is being offered for 50% off.

Golden Pursuits

For the month of August, there are two Golden Pursuits happening. The first one is already live and is expected to end August 12. This one is called "Sheogorath Takes a Holiday." Those who can complete the activities can earn gold, armor, and a unique customized action themed after the Daedric Prince himself.

Meanwhile, the second one is "Straight to the Crate." This is for those who enjoy a cheeky Crown Crate or two. By completing various activities, players can earn as much as 20 free crates once the campaign ends. More information on this campaign is set to be released at a later date. Straight to the Crate is planned to run from August 20 to September 17.

Other Events

There are two other events set for this month. Whitestrake’s Mayhem Event has players fight against others in Cyrodiil, the Imperial City, and Battlegrounds. In return, they can earn bonus Alliance Points, Experience Points, and even Tel Var Stones. That’s not all since fragments of the Colovian War Torte recipe are also up for grabs. Whitestrake’s Mayhem Event runs from August 5 to August 12.

Then from August 19 to August 26, players can look forward to the Deathmatch Battleground Spotlight. This PvP action continues deeper into the month with this mini event. Players can earn bonus XP and AP.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that’s set in the expansive world of Tamriel. For the PC, the game is available on Steam.
