Ocelot Technologies released a new update for Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds. One of the new features is the introduction of the Hero Mode.
The Hero Mode offers Tactician difficulty and combines it with a single save along with changes to select encounters. Under this mode, players are asked to commit to their decisions. In particular, it's all about preparation. Choosing when and where to use valuable consumables make all the difference. While defeat means an end to the Hero Mode attempt, it doesn't have to end the adventure. Whenever a player dies while attempting Hero Mode, they'll be able to continue their adventure on Tactician difficulty and then finish the playthrough normally.
Archives Dungeon
Update 0.8 also adds The Archives. This is a large new dungeon that's set within an ancient elven library. It's filled with puzzles, battles, and even new enemy types. Of course, there are the books simply waiting to be read. This new area is one that offers fresh discoveries and important revelations about the main storyline, which includes the activities of the chronomancer Thevyre.
A Growing Menace
Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds tells the story of an ancient entity that stirs in the darkness and now has cast a veil of shadows across the land, threatening all of humanity. With tensions already running high in the newly discovered continent of Andra, the growing menace has escalated what was already a dire situation.
Players take on the role of a fledgling who is on their first mission for the Heroes Guild. This later unwittingly draws them into the heart of this unfolding crisis. The secrets they uncover and the choices they make result in shaping the path as they navigate this perilous world.
Classic Turn-based Combat
The tactical and isometric turn-based combat of the game takes inspiration from the classic RPGs of old as it offers both depth and strategy. As players recruit and assemble a diverse party, the unique abilities of each member play an important role when it comes to the success on the battlefield.
Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds is available now on Steam in Early Access. A free demo is also available on the same platform. The full 1.0 release is planned for release in the second quarter of 2027.
