Good news for fans of Fairy Tail! A video game titled Fairy Tail: Dungeons is coming out tis August 26. It's a deck-building rogue-lite game which features characters from the hit manga and anime. You'll have them explore a dungeon and try to defeat enemies using only a limited number of moves along with a strategically built deck of skill cards.
The story follows Natsu and Happy, who discovers one day a mysterious door suddenly appearing under the guild. Going inside, they realize that it's actually a strange and expansive dungeon which has the ability to drain all intruders of their powers. Having no other way to defend themselves, it appears that they're headed to certain doom. However, an Exceed named Labi arrives to help. It turns out that Labi's friend is missing and upon learning that, the duo makes the decision to head even deeper.
Solo Dungeon
There are two ways to play the game. The first is the Labyrinth, which is a Solo Dungeon. In this one you'll need to use the cards in the deck to perform several actions. These include, but are not limited to, attacking, defending, and casting magic. The deck can be powered up even further using cards that are won in battle or those found in treasure chests. To deal the most amount of damage against enemies, you'll need to use the cards in a certain order to trigger Magic Chains.
By the way, you'll need to explore the solo dungeon as well as unlock powerful skills before the lantern goes out. If you're lucky enough, you should run into other Fairy Tail members who are more than happy to join you. Should you be unfortunate and fall in battle, not to worry since points earned while exploring allow you to unlock amulets which can help in future runs.
Team Dungeon
Another way to play is the Team Dungeon which is Labyrinth Depths. For this one you need to form a team of 3 characters who have been trained in the solo dungeon. Once that's formed you can then head deeper into the dungeon. Be sure to look for times which can help power up the team's stats. By the way, keep an eye out for the final boss. That's because it's an original character illustrated by none other than Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima himself.
