The Orion Sector is now open as ZeroSpace is now officially in Early Access on Steam. The game puts players in the role of a commander of The Protectorate. As part of the launch, it's being offered at a 10% discount for a limited period.
ZeroSpace is a hybrid sci-fi RTS/RPG game where players get to be one of the commanders of The Protectorate. This galactic force is dedicated to making sure that humanity’s place in the galaxy is secured. The Orion sector in particular has long been locked in a vicious power struggle between a lot of alien factions, all of which are armed to the teeth and more than ready to fight to the death and achieve space dominance.
Early Access
For the duration of the early access period, players can experience four factions which are the Protectorate, the Grell, the Legion, and the Xol. In a post, developer Starlance Studios shared that the Xol faction remains to be in an earlier stage of development. As such, they'll be available in ranked matchmaking once the community balance feedback has been released.
Aside from the four playable factions, players can also access six mercenary factions which can be mixed in to expand the army options.
Other features available during early access are:
- Campaign Act 1: 12 missions as Prefect Aster of The Protectorate.
- Galactic War: 10 co-op missions in a persistent and seasonal mode where alliances compete for control of the Orion Sector.
- Survival: Team up with a friend and hold out against endless waves of Grell.
- Ranked: 1v1 and 2v2 ladder.
- Skirmish: 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all against friends or AI.
Season Zero
As part of the launch, players should be happy to know that Season Zero is now live and to run through August 2. Features include being able to choose one of three alliances led by Winter, Neo, or uThermal. Each co-op match contributes influence for the chosen side.
Season zero also lets players unlock exclusive portraits and titles. That’s not all since the winning alliance also helps determine the global reward for all players and influences the theme of a future season.
ZeroSpace builds on decades of RTS mechanics and has players enjoy a unit management and control system that's not only deep but also streamlined. This results in smooth control at all levels of play. The game makes it easy for players to manage their armies and conflict.
