RedRuins Softworks announced that Breathedge 2 is now in Early Access on Steam. As part of this latest milestone, it's being offered for what may be its lowest price yet. It's available at 59% off at $15.71.
In a statement, the studio shared that while players can now play the game, it is not yet the full release. They reminded everyone that while they're not a big studio, they'll make sure to build the game on the scale that was "originally envisioned." By being in early access, it also means that the studio can work on the game alongside the players.
For the duration of the Early Access, players can access the first major story chapter which also offers a large area to explore. It also lets players experience the core gameplay systems.
The studio reminded everyone that while the story is not yet complete and that parts of the world are still inaccessible, it’s going to grow and evolve throughout development. Throughout the Early Access phase, the plan is to release major updates which expands the story while at the same time adding new areas, characters, items, mechanics, and even features.
Breathedge 2 is a humorous survival adventure that's set in space. The story follows an ordinary Man and his perfectly ordinary space problems. While it serves as a direct sequel to Breathedge, the studio assures everyone that those who haven't played the first game need not worry. That's because the game, according to the studio, is "equally confusing" not only for those new to the series but even the veterans.
The game puts focus on the Breathedge Corporation which, for some reason, has started a galaxy-wide war. They managed to build an enormous army of Coffinbots and attacked the largest human settlements. The Man and his faithful companion, which is an AI living inside his spacesuit, accidentally derails whatever the Corporation has planned for its swift takeover. As a result, the Man becomes the number-one target of every hostile Coffinbot out there. Despite this, it appears fate still wasn’t satisfied. Having barely survived, the Man heroes suddenly find himself under attack by their own allies.
