Jagex Announces New Title with RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Developer Jagex has great news for fans of RuneScape. They've announced that they're working on a new open world survival crafting game set in the same universe. It's RuneScape: Dragonwilds and to be released on Steam.

The Dragons are Awake

The game is set in the forgotten continent of Ashenfall and a time where dragons have awoken. Since this is a co-operative survival crafting game, players need to gather, build, among others, if they are to survive. To slay the Dragon Queen, they not only have to master survival but also uncover ancient secrets.

The Power of Anima

Players can harness the power of Anima like summoning spectral axes to cut down trees in an instant or channel the energy of nature to repair broken armor. The game also has a unique progression system where players get to unlock new spells as well as craft recipes and even abilities. It allows for players to interact with the world around them in countless ways.

Play Solo or with Friends

In their adventure across Ashenfall, players can go at it solo or in a team with up to three friends. In a land that’s been hidden since time immemorial, they’ll have to uncover ancient secrets and fight against legendary RuneScape creatures.

In a statement, Jagex CEO Jon Bellamy revealed that they're excited to be able to give players a peek into what they're working on. The studio promises RuneScape: Dragonwilds to be a new experience that's sure to be "worthy of wearing the RuneScape name."

He added that even at the start, they've always put focus on community feedback. There have already been closed alpha tests and according to Bellamy, they'll continue to listen to player feedback as they build the game to Early Access. He concluded by saying that this game is sure to be loved not only by the biggest RuneScape fans but also "entirely new players alike."
