Ritual Studios announced an exciting update for Fretless - The Wrath of Riffson. It appears that two new artists have been added to the already impressive list of the game’s soundtrack.
The studio said in a post that King Yosef and Ola Englund round off the list of artists that already include the likes of Northlane, Andrew Huang, Davie504, Cult of Luna, Rabea Massaad, Yvette Young and Mary Spender. It’s worth noting that both Yvette Young and Mary Spender being part of the soundtrack were announced just last week.
King Yosef
King Yosef is a producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Portland, Oregon. He’s mainly known for fusing the aggression of industrial and metal with the emotional rawness of hip-hop and punk. He had his start from the underground scene and gained recognition through collaborations with artists like Youth Code. He was also able to work with the late rapper XXXTentacion. In those instances, he helped define a gritty and genre-defying aesthetic.
In the game, King Yosef composed the theme of the HarperBeast, a musical flying monster waiting for players in the crystal caves.
Ola Englund
Ola Englund is a Swedish guitarist, producer, and content creator. He is best known for his work in the metal scene along with his role as a modern ambassador for heavy music. He not only founded the bands Feared and The Haunted but was also responsible for the gear-focused YouTube channel. This has resulted in him becoming a respected figure not only onstage but also online. His playing is rooted in groove-heavy and riff-driven metal which blends melodic sensibility with tight and aggressive rhythms along with technical precision.
In the game, Ola Englund’s music can be heard during the battle against the Auxarachnid, a bass-powered giant spider lurking in the Dissonant Thicket.
