The Last Hammashan: Awakening of a Hero is releasing on August 29. This free-to-play third-person action adventure is available for the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The game was made possible through independent developer Alaa Hamash. In addition to being developed by a solo programmer, the game was also made on zero passion. It's basically a testament to the passion and determination of one developer in bringing a dream to life. In making the game free, developer Alaa Hamash shared in a statement that this is because they wanted "as many people as possible to experience the story, the world, and the adventure."

Last Hammashan: Awakening of a Hero puts players in the role of Gideon. To save the people of the village, enters the Hammashan castle, a place that's said to be where no one returns. He's been asked to retrieve the ancient Astrolabe. This is an artifact of unimaginable power and once wielded by the Hammashan civilization which the world believed was annihilated.

Along the way he learns that his true name is actually Adam and his destiny is to be the Last Hammashan. These individuals are the only ones capable of wielding the Astrolabe’s power to challenge the tyrant Sevarog and his generals. That’s because when Gideon touches the Astrolabe, it activates and then shows him a place unfamiliar to him. An entity at the site awakens his Hammashan blood which alerts the tyrant Sevarog who calls upon his generals and orders killing Adam.

Now whenever Adam (Gideon) defeats any of Sevarog’s 12 generals, he gets to reclaim the Hammashan powers from them and then he wields it, as well as the fighting style, as his own. Each win means new abilities and a new fighting style. Also remember that the lesser health Adam he has, the more vulnerable he is.
