Black Banner Studio announced that Legacy of Valor has won the Best Foreign Indie Game at Poznań Game Arena 2026. This is the same award it won back in 2025.
The Poznań Game Arena is a trade fair for computer games, multimedia entertainment, and technologies used in video games. It's held annually at , held annually at the Poznań International Fair in Poznań, Poland. The event is the largest computer games trade fair in Central and Eastern Europe when it comes to the number of participants, exhibition space and the number of exhibitors.
Talking about this year's win, the studio shared in a statement that winning for the second year in a row means a lot to the team. Last year, the studio presented the vision and foundations of what they wanted to create. This year, they came back with "a much more advanced game." The studio went on to say that seeing how far the title has come makes the victory "especially meaningful."
At this year's event, visitors to the booth played an expanded RPG build while at the same time watched a separate demonstration of battles featuring thousands of soldiers. The studio also showcased improvements across combat, animations, character interactions, RPG systems, and strategic gameplay.
The Strongman Arrives
One of the highlights though would have to be a visit from none other than world-renowned strongman Júlíus Björnsson. This is best known for portraying The Mountain in HBO's Game of Thrones. Björnsson has officially joined the cast of Legacy of Valor as Vaarg, a formidable character players encounter during their journey.
Björnsson joined the Black Banner Studios team at Poznań Game Arena, meeting fans and taking part in the game's presentation. His involvement represents another step in the studio's ambition to deliver memorable characters, cinematic storytelling, and an immersive medieval experience.
Legacy of Valor is a grounded medieval action-strategy RPG where players take on the role of a soldier as they command armies in real time and build a realm of their own. The goal is to reclaim their ancestral home from ruin and develop it into a thriving seat of power. They have to develop the settlement as well as strengthen the economy and military. They can then watch their rise to power physically reshape the world around them .
Players can expand their influence through war, diplomacy, and conquest. They get to explore a living medieval world, fight on the front line in battles and sieges, and lead thousands of soldiers as their story grows from a personal struggle for inheritance into the fate of an entire kingdom.
