Developer Studio Supersoft finally revealed the release date for its upcoming title Moonstone Island. The game is set to officially make its debut for the PC through Steam on September 20 and to offer a 15% launch discount. This creature-collecting life-sim has players experience and open world where they get to explore more than 100 islands.
As part of the announcement, the studio released a trailer which features original hand-drawn animation. Watching the video, it brings to mind a lot of classics from Studio Ghibli. Not that surprising since the game seems to be inspired by Castle in the Sky and Kiki’s Delivery Service. You can watch the trailer below:
The game focuses on a village where it's tradition for young alchemists to move to a new island and finish their training. With magical potions and nature spirits, players get to explore dangerous dungeons, ancient temples, and even hostile biomes. As they work to prove themselves as a true alchemist, players get to meet new friends along the way and even discover the secret that Moonstone Island hides.
Here are some key features of the game:
- Explore a Wondrous World: Get to travel by balloon, broom, or even glider through the unique biomes and reach the farthest edges of the world.
- Settle Into Your New Home: Build, decorate and customize a cozy new home in any of the more than 100 islands in the procedurally generated world.
- Make New Friends & More: Become a true member of the community. Don't forget to make friends with NPC neighbors, go on dates, and even fall in love.
- Discover Wild Spirit Companions: Tame and befriend wild Spirits so that they help in the fight in card-based combat.
- Go Dungeon Crawling: Explore dungeons to earn upgrades, collect loot, and uncover secrets.
- Become a Full-fledged Alchemist: Optimize the alchemist with unique skills and upgrades. Craft dozens of items and vehicles to prepare for the journey across the treacherous wilderness.
- Build Your Own Farm: Grow crops and flowers to brew potions and tame Spirits.
