A new update has been released for Handmancers. This is one of the first ones released while the game is in Early Access. It introduces a lot of improvements when it comes to gameplay systems, balance, UI clarity, progression flow, and the overall user experience.
Players should be happy to know that one of the most requested features is now available. In particular, multiple save slots have been fully implemented. That means players can now manage different runs and profiles independently. The same update also improves the pacing and readability of combat significantly. This was made possible by expanding the visual feedback systems, clearer action responses, improved loot flow, and enhanced boss encounter presentation. Other changes include the game now having faster loading screens and the skip cutscenes option added in settings.
Another change is the major overhaul done for the game's sprint mechanics. Other improvements are:
- Curo rewards separated from loot reward options.
- Confirm button added during loot selection.
- Improved combat visual feedback across multiple systems.
- Better clarity for enemy innate abilities and action results.
- Distinct visuals for Cursed Artifacts.
- Perfect SPRINT feedback added.
- Boss music now properly ends after defeating bosses.
- Improved descriptions and gameplay readability.
Handmancers is a Rock, Paper, Scissors Roguelite deckbuilder that offers a first-person twist. It's a game that features tactical choices and combines it with deck-building depth. Players get to craft their deck, enhance cards, equip tricky artifacts and face powerful enemies in strategic fights.
The game has simple rules where each Sign counters another. It serves as the core of every encounter and shapes all deck and strategy decisions. Players can experience the tactical depth of a deckbuilder as a duelist and not a person slamming cards on the table.
Players can customize their hand with each card having as much as three modifiers. They can combine it right and turn their gestures into nukes. Players can also pick their faction and solidify their play style. For example, they can deliver heavy damage with Scissors, play defensively with Rock, or stuck buffs with Paper.
Handmancers is available on Steam Early Access. A free demo can be accessed on the same platform.
