Aether & Iron takes place in an alternate 1930s New York that's been transformed into a vertical city after the discovery of "aether," a key component to newfound anti-gravitational technology. Players can customize and upgrade their fleet of aether-powered vehicles with weapons and armor while at the same time recruit unique companions to watch their back. The choices shape not just the path, but also the fate of the city.
To improve their chances in combat, and even social situations, players need to level up their Hustle, Smarts, and Brass abilities. What begins as a simple job later has players being drawn into a conspiracy that threatens the whole city.
