We finally have a release date for the second expansion for Where Winds Meet. Everstone Studio announced that the Imperial Palace is set to open its doors on May 28. It invites players to step into a living palace of intrigue and experience royal pastimes and immersive oddities.
Kaifeng Imperial Palace
One of the new additions to the game through the upcoming expansion is the Kaifeng Imperial Palace. This sprawling imperial complex spans more than one million square meters and was based on authentic historical inspirations. From grand ceremonial halls to hidden corners shrouded in secrecy, there are more than 3,000 dynamic NPCs in this living and ever-changing palace ecosystem.
There are three main areas where players can experience uniquely different lives. These are the Front Court, Inner Quarters, and Central Bureaus. There are also rumors of a mysterious newly established treasury that's waiting for bold wanderers to discover its secrets.
Anyway, those who enter the palace under the pretense of an investigation result in unexpectedly joining the Office of Martial and Virtue, which is the court's elite intelligence agency. Acting as undercover agents, players get to take on daily duty assignments while gradually untangling the hidden truths buried beneath the center of power.
Royal Pastimes
Under the rigid order of the Imperial Palace lies a vibrant ecosystem of everyday culture. Players can join in various traditional activities that include Cricket Fighting, seasonal Ice Frolicking, and an extensive exploration system.
The palace also has a lot of interactive oddities. For example, players can try high-stakes jailbreaks from the Imperial Prison. They can also sneak a taste of the royal meal or even stumble upon hidden martial arts masters. Those brave enough can try to sit on the Dragon Throne though they should be warned that such ambition may come with unexpected costs.
Then there is the themed Dragon Boat Festival event which is expected to launch in June. Players can immerse themselves in traditional customs, handcraft gifts for Jianghu companions, and practice traditional Five Elements exercises for rich rewards.
Where Winds Meet has players uncover the mystique of Wuxia martial arts. They can craft and customize their characters and progression by making use of a unique eastern combat system inspired by Wuxia. Where Winds Meet gives players access to a wide range of familiar and exotic weapons along with skills to unlock and upgrade. Players can engage in direct close-quarters combat as they wield an arsenal of weapons that include the Spear, Sword, Dual Blades, Glaive, Umbrella, and Fans.
