Loric Games and Snail Games USA released a new update for Echoes of Elysium. Major Update 0.18 may be the largest update since the game was launched in early access. It makes changes to the game to make it feel better the moment players jump in while at the same time adding more depth to how players move and interact with the world.

This update radically reworks how the game introduces itself to players. In particular, it's now clearer, smoother, and easier to get into. There's also now more room for player expression through movement with the new Power Jump ability. This ability lets players launch themselves further and higher, which should offer a lot more mobility.

Another change is that the glider now comes with a progression system. It's something players can earn, craft and upgrade over time. As a result it makes it a core part of the journey.

This update also adds 150 unique items to the game. Players should also be happy to know that hints have been completely reworked so that they're more helpful and less intrusive. There's also a large pass on fixes, performance, and polish across the game, based directly on player feedback. Check out the full patch notes here.

In a statement, Loric Games cofounder and CEO Brian Johnson revealed that Update 0.18 serves as a "massive step forward" for the game. He added that they've spent reworking on the game's first-time experience so that things feel more natural, clearer, and less overwhelming.

Echoes of Elysium invites players to immerse themselves in a richly detailed world where advanced contraptions and stunning scenery seamlessly intertwine. The game takes place in a landscape replete with ancient machinery and breathtaking vistas, where every inch seeped in mystery ripe for discovery.

This open-world survival RPG pivots around the construction and utilization of awe-inspiring clockwork airships significantly impacting the game’s survival aspects. These flying fortresses serve not just as vehicles of exploration, but as fundamental operational bases. They fulfill various roles, including the gathering and transportation of materials and exploration of new locations, underscoring the intricate mechanics at play in the game.

Echoes of Elysium is available in Early Access on Steam.
