New Update for RPG Developer Bakin Improves Visual Features

A new update has been released for RPG Developer Bakin. Update Ver. 2.4 introduces enhanced visual features to the game that include the implementation of shadow maps. There are also new functions added that's designed to streamline event creation.

When it came to enhancing the visual capabilities of the game, the development team started with the shadow maps. This allowed for gameplay to not only be visually rich but also immersive. The Shadow Map feature in particular allows shadows to be automatically generated based on lights placed within a map with a simple toggle. As a result, this makes it easy to incorporate immersive lighting effects, like shadows cast by campfires or flashlights, into the game.

Camera Z Rotation

Another feature added is the camera Z-axis rotation/roll. By intentionally tilting the screen, developers can create those unsettling horror scenes or impactful cutscenes. It results in a more impactful and memorable visual presentation.

Level of Detail

The update also introduces a feature that allows players to switch between LOD models embedded within models and based on their displayed height relative to the screen. By simplifying models that are farther from the camera, it lowers the processing load and improves performance.

Multi-branch Panel

Then there is the new panel that allows multiple branching paths based on variable values. It's similar to a switch statement and supports branching not only by numerical values but also by strings. As a result, it simplifies conditional branching that previously required combining multiple event panels.

Other New Additions

There are also other features implemented like a function that let players search for where common events are used. There's also adding cloud shadows as a post-effect as well as parallax mapping.
