New Update for The Elder Scrolls Online Makes Changes to Battlegrounds

A new update is now live in The Elder Scrolls Online and there's a lot of exciting content being added. While the update is free for all players, there are contents that can be accessed through ESO Plus membership or by buying them from the Crown Store. Then there are the changes that make the experience even better.

One of the changes is those on Battlegrounds. This mode was first introduced way back in 2017 along with the Morrowind Chapter. The new update introduces some interesting changes that make it more competitive and more fun. For example, instead of 4v4v4, the mode now has 4v4 and 8v8-sized matches.

Making things even more exciting is the addition of seven new maps having different sizes, new rewards, and even new mechanics. Four of these new maps are made for 8v8, while three maps are best for 4v4 fights.

Battlegrounds Rewards

Players should be happy to know that the reward structure of the Battlegrounds Daily Quest has been improved. Rewards now follow new tiers where players get a Green Coffer for one win, Blue Coffer for two wins and Purple Coffers and three wins. Each coffer contains, among others, Alliance Points, battlegrounds item set, and Soul Gems.

New Companions

The new update also introduces two new Companions which players can recruit. There's the High Elf outcast Tanlorin who is able to combine the abilities of Soul Magic and Dragonknight. The second one is Zerith-var, who's a Khajiit Necromancer from the distant past. Both Companions join the game bringing their own passive abilities to unlock as well as having their own questlines and stories to tell. This should give players the chance to learn more about their allies.

The new companions are not free and to unlock them players need to find them within the Companions section of the in-game Crown Store. They are free for ESO Plus members and can be purchased using crowns for those who don’t currently have an active membership. Once unlocked, players can find Tanlorin just outside Vulkhel Guard in Auridon with Zerith-var being near Moonmont in Reaper’s March.
