Nimbit Frontier Opens in Steam Early Access this August

The game has you collect creatures but need to take care instead of having them fight.

Megasploot announced that Nimbit Frontier is launching in Steam Early Access on August 17. This cozy creature-collecting life sim has players what's called a Nimbits. They get to build custom habitats while at the same time explore the shifting Underwild for fragments and rare species.

Nimbit Frontier is set in the frontier two of Star's End. This is where players need to restore the lost species, which are the Nimbits. However, unlike other games in the game genre, players don't need to collect creatures and have them fight other creatures. Instead, they'll have to care for them and help them grow. To do that, they have to do various things like building habitats. Once they're ready, players then need to release these Nimbits into sanctuaries where they can thrive in the wild again.

The thing to remember is that when it comes to the frontier, life isn't just about creature care. That's because players need to go on roguelike expeditions and explore the mysterious Underwild. This is to gather rare resources, fish, collect museum specimens, and upgrade tools. They also have to recover genetic fragments from Mimocks. Of course, there's always getting to know the townsfolk of Star's End.

Unique Features

Nimbit Frontier has features that make it stand apart from other games. As mentioned, the creatures collected need not fight. This is because in the game, it’s all about caring. Players have to keep track since habitats can change not only the traits of Nimbits but even their personalities. Ultimately, the goal is to eventually release the Nimbits.

In addition to creature collecting, there’s also dungeon exploration. This is where the game also makes things different. For example, the dungeons are both coy and tactical. It’s not punishing or grindy.

Nimbit Frontier is a game where everything loops together. The exploration feeds the research, which in turn feeds the habitats. The habitats then feed conservation.

While waiting for the release, players can see if the game is for them by trying out the free demo that's available on Steam. Do you have what it takes to raise Nimbits? Wishlist Nimbit Frontier now.
