Arctic Hazard announced that they're delaying the release of NORSE: Oath of Blood. This Viking-era turn-based tactical game is now releasing on February 17 and to be available for the PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Meanwhile, the versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is planned to be released this Spring.
In a statement, the development team shared that they need additional time to make sure that players have the "best Viking tactics experience possible." It was originally planned to be launched on February 3.
NORSE: Oath of Blood invites players to an epic quest that's set in the Viking Age. Players take on the role of Gunnar, a young warrior whose destiny is forged in blood and betrayal. He sets his site on reclaiming honor and justice after the treacherous Steinarr Far-Spear murders his father, Jarl Gripr, and usurps his high seat.
In this Viking-era turn-based tactical game, craft a settlement from the ground up as they gather allies from far and wide and then train a formidable warband to stand by his side. Each decision shapes the world around Gunnar, as he navigates a landscape teeming with both danger and opportunity. They get to face off against rival clans, forge unbreakable bonds, and outmaneuver his enemies in tactical, turn-based battles that test players' strategic prowess.

The game has players get fully immersed in a gritty Viking saga that's brought to life through the epic story. It's penned by award-winning and Sunday Times bestselling author Giles Kristian. Meanwhile, the haunting original soundtrack is scored by composer Dan Wakefield and dark pagan neo-folk band, Galdorcræft.
