Netmarble announced that the 2025 Solo Leveling: ARISE Championship (SLC 2025) has successfully concluded. This is the first official global competition for the game. Rising above all the players is OhReung.
SLC 2025 was held last April 12 at the IVEX Studio in South Korea. It was here where the finalists fought it out in the popular mode “Battlefield of Time.” This was for the chance to obtain the highly coveted title of “First Global Champion.” The studio revealed that the excitement from the fans over the tournament was truly over the top with tickets for the offline event being sold out in just under a minute. Meanwhile, the live broadcast was able to draw thousands of viewers worldwide.
There were a total of 16 finalists for the tournament. Eight of them were from the International League while the other eight were from the Asia League. Players from around the world traveled to South Korea to compete in the final rounds. After several intense bouts, the four top contenders advanced to the final match and ultimately it was OhReung who emerged as the ultimate champion as he managed to clear four battlefields in just 2 minutes and 57 seconds. As the grand champion of the SLC 2025 and the strongest hunter, OhReung received a KRW 10 million cash prize (~$7,000) along with an LG gram Pro 360 Laptop. The runner-up meanwhile got KRW 7 million (~$4,900) with the third-place received KRW 3 million (~$2,100). Other second and third place finishers were also awarded with an LG UltraGearTM Gaming Monitor.
In a statement, OhReung shared that he’s honored to be the world champion and revealed that he’s donating half of his winnings to help those affected by the recent wildfires in South Korea.
Solo Leveling: ARISE is an action game adaptation of the hit webtoon, Solo Leveling. Players take on the role of Jinwoo and experience his journey through the beloved webtoon tale firsthand, leveling up, taking on dynamic battles, and even coming up with their own combat styles by selecting different combinations of skills and weapons. Solo Leveling: ARISE is already available on mobile platforms and set to be released on Steam sometime this year.
