Old School RuneScape invites everyone to head over to the high season and learn what lies beyond the shores of Gielinor. Get ready to discover what lies in the uncharted waters when "Sailing" launches on November 19.
When the update goes live, players get to explore the vast ocean of Gielinor as well as chart the seas like never before in their very own ship. The dock is located at The Pandemonium serves as a homely port to return between voyages. Of course, they'll have to learn the ropes of sailing before heading out into deeper waters.
Sailing allows players to discover brand new locations that include the Great Conch island, which is the home to new NPCs and the Troubled Tortugans questline. To find new locations and small islands, they'll need to use their spyglass. Each port bears its own unique tasks. Then once they reach level 30 Sailing, they can challenge their skills across three thrilling Barracuda trails.
Hazards of Sailing
As players travel across the hazardous waters, they'll need to face monsters never seen before. There are krakens, sharks, and orcas in the open waters. Meanwhile, there are also new threats on land that include frost dragons and gryphons. However, there's good news. Lucrative rewards and XP are available when finding long-lost pirate treasures, plundering shipwrecks, prying open crates, and solving riddles, to name a few.
Skills and Upgrades
Players can discover new skill integrations and upgrade. They can strengthen and customize their ship with stronger components to toughen out the rougher waters. Players can chop down new types of trees, fetch new logs, farm from new hardwood and hop patches, harvest fish from the ocean to cook, and gather resources from coral nurseries to create powerful new potions and spells.
As they climb through levels, players can get access to new upgrades for their ships. They can also obtain a new Sailing Skill Pet, a Gryphon Pet, and the Horn of Plenty. There's also the Aquanite Hopper, a new ranged off-hand obtainable from a brand-new slayer creature.
