A new update for Dragonkin: The Banished has been released and features the beta launch of the online co-op mode. This should open doors for a new gameplay experience though for now it's limited to the PC version.

Online co-op mode has players form parties of two to four. They get to explore and fight the draconic threat as a team. Progression is designed for the group with each player receiving their own loot which can be freely traded with other members.

New Systems

The update introduces new systems to the game. The first is the City of Montescail Progression System. This is a way of introducing a more linear progression along with an upgrade tree. With this, each service now unlocks at a specific City level and at the same time let players upgrade the service they want along the way.

Since the system provides more guidance, this should solve various problems faced by the players. It should also allow players to unlock all services naturally and maintain a certain flexibility in how they develop their city.

Changes have been made to the Generator-Spender. According to the development team, this feature started a lot of discussion even during the early access launch. It seems that a lot of players felt the system is either outdated or feel frustrating at times. As a result, the team has removed the Generators and made them optional via a dedicated modifier. They've also added a rank system for skills and made balance adjustments to mana regen that now appears on equipment.

Dragonkin: The Banished offers great flexibility with a local two-player co-op mode on the same screen. The game makes it possible to combine local and online play. This allows two players in local co-op to form a full party with two other friends over the internet.

Dragonkin: The Banished has players embody one of four available dragon hunters with the objective of freeing humanity from the invading draconic forces. To meet this challenge, the game offers deep theorycrafting through various character enhancement mechanics. Players can develop the abilities of their hero through a unique skill system called the Ancestral Grid by associating fragments obtained during their adventure.

Dragonkin: The Banished is already available in Early Access on Steam. Version 1.0 is scheduled to launch on PC on March 16. After that it's releasing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 19.
