Open Beta 5 for SMITE 2 is now live. One of the major changes are the improvements to Conquest.
In the game, Conquest is a mode where two teams of five players battle in a three-laned map. It's pretty much the typical MOBA mode. That said, under OB5 the changes are:
- Fairer Gold Pacing: Expect a Tier 3 item completion roughly every five minutes, which should prevent runaway snowballing.
- Brute Minions: Periodic “brutes” replace select melee minions at 7, 15, and 23 minutes, that result in providing greater structure-sieging power.
- Consistent Minion Interactions: Adjusted targeting and damage to make sure minions don’t cascade out of control. Fire Minion bonus gold is reverted for more predictable gameplay flow.
In addition to what's already mentioned, there are also improvements made to structures like:
- Tower and Phoenix penetration are increased.
- A minion counter under each structure’s health bar aids in push coordination.
- Runic Bomb and Obsidian Dagger are clearer and deadlier tools in top-level strategies.
Game-Changing Features
OB5 for SMITE 2 also introduces changes to the game's HUD Editor. This has long been one of the changes requested by the community. With this, players can now customize their in-game interface like adjusting size, opacity, and positioning of HUD elements. They can also personalize the battlefield view for optimal clarity.
The gameplay experience is made even better with the addition of Music Packs. What makes this one different is that these are from SMITE 1’s fan-favorite soundtracks. There's a total of 68 custom tunes and it can be unlocked through the Classic Music Chest.

Players should be happy to know that there are new skins and cosmetics that include:
- Silent Wish Aladdin (new SMITE 2 skin, in the Silent Strike Chest)
