Milan Records released the original soundtrack for Songs of the Past of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It features music by Magda Urbańska, Marcin Przybyłowicz and Daniel Elms.
The music was originally previewed at CD PROJEKT RED’s 2026 gamescom showcase last month. There, fans and audiences got a taste of what to expect from the expansion’s full soundtrack in 2027.
The soundtrack was created to accompany Geralt of Rivia's return to the Path. It expands on the rich musical identity that has since made The Witcher franchise a global phenomenon. It blends evocative orchestral writing with traditional folk influences. It also has powerful vocal performances and regional instrumentation that's inspired by the world's diverse cultures. Ultimately, the score is able to capture both the intimacy and grandeur of a new chapter in Geralt's story.
Talking about this latest release, composer Magda Urbańska shared in a statement that it was exciting to create the music for Songs of the Past. However, she added that it also brought with it that "huge sense of responsibility." She went on to say that the music for the game remains extraordinary even today.
Saga of the Past
Saga of the Past is an upcoming expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Players will again take on the role of Geralt of Rivia and journey to the brand new region of Letten. This seemingly idyllic land hides a dark secret beneath its peaceful surface. In this new adventure, they’re equipped with new abilities and a new weapon known as the chain. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in May 2015 and is the third title in The Witcher video game series. It offers an open world with a third-person perspective. The game has players take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, a mercenary monster slayer. They've been tasked with tracking down Ciri, the Child of Prophecy, considered as a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world. For the PC, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on Steam.
