Blizzard announced that the original soundtrack for Diablo II: Resurrected is now available. It can be purchased over on Steam with the tracks in FLAC and MP3 formats.
For this soundtrack, composer Matt Uelmen made sure to expand his approach while at the same time preserve the principles of atmosphere and restraint in Diablo II. Compared to the first game, this title invites players to a much broader range of environments with each region having its own distinct musical identity. For example, the desert regions feature Middle Eastern-inspired instrumentation that include hand drums and plucked strings. Meanwhile, the jungle areas incorporate tribal rhythms and organic textures. These choices give each act that unique character while maintaining the overall dark and foreboding mood.
While there is increased variety, the music continues to be grounded in ambient design. Melodies were still understated and a lot of the tracks function more as evolving soundscapes than traditional compositions. The use of unconventional instruments and sampling added to the sense of otherworldliness.
One of the most notable achievements of Diablo II’s music was the ability to evoke place. Each region feels unique not just visually but also sonically. Players could often identify where they are based solely on the music. This level of environmental storytelling was groundbreaking and has influenced countless games since.

Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition comes with the remaster of Diablo II, its Lord of Destruction expansion, and the Reign of the Warlock DLC. The game has players go on adventure across the Hell-scarred land of Sanctuary which has been faithfully preserved and enhanced with modern 3D graphics, remastered audio, and updated cinematics.
Diablo II: Resurrected invites players to experience the story of a world that's been ravaged by eternal conflict between the forces of Heaven and Hell. They get to obtain powerful items, master more than 200 awe-inspiring skills across eight classes, and defeat minions of the Burning Hells in 8 player co-op. It has the seasonal ladder which tasks players with dominating leaderboards and then gets a fresh start as it resets and introduces new challenges.
