The Painter Boss Paradise DLC for Castle Crashers is now available. It's priced at $3.99 but is currently being offered at 10% off until August 14. The DLC allows players to bring their custom characters to life in the game. They can even share those creations on the Steam Workshop.
One of the features of the Painter Boss Paradise is the DLC template. It lets players design a custom character’s head, body, weapon, shield, beefy form, portrait, and Back Off Barbarian piece. To download this template and get started, all they need to do is head over to the "How to Get Started with Painter Boss Paradise" Castle Crashers Steam announcement post.
Other features of the DLC are:
- Players can take on the role of the new official character Paint Junior and use their imagination to unleash powerful art and defeat enemies.
- New art for all official playable characters and weapons available.
- New main menu art with eight scenes celebrating the world of Castle Crashers.
- New map art for fancier adventuring.
- Endless knightly possibilities.
For those worried about buying the DLC and missing the nostalgic feel of the original art need not worry. That’s because players can toggle the Painter Boss Paradise DLC’s functionality on or off from the main menu at any time.
Castle Crashers is a 2D sidescrolling arcade adventure from The Behemoth where players get to hack, slash, and smash their way to victory. They get to play with up to four friends locally or online to defend the kingdom, save the princesses, and crash some castles.
Players can use the intuitive magic and combo system. It unlocks an arsenal of new attacks as their character progresses through the game. Characters can be leveled up using skill points and adjust Strength, Magic, Defense, and Agility.
The game offers different modes starting with Arena where players fight against other players in team matches or free-for-all. Meanwhile, Insane Mode tests the skills of players in the ultimate campaign challenge. Finally, there’s the Back Off Barbarian minigame where players have to jump and hop across the level to avoid the enemies.
