The new chapter picks up directly where the Elderwood leaves off. This means in order to move the story forward, players need to have completed the Elderwood quests. That said, the main story pushes players towards the source of the Echo that's threatening Kilima. It leads them deeper into the Highlands and the truths hidden within it.
Meet Eshelon
In their new journey, players encounter new challenges and even meet a new character named Eshelon. As the first and only son of Duchess Kenyara Bahari, he was raised to succeed and has done little else. Still, Eshelon commands excellence whether it's speaking multiple languages, playing violin at a mastery level, or discussing state and politics.
Now an expert at the Bahari Institute, Eshelon is studying ancient human devices and strange energies. After being sent by the Duchess to investigate the strange explosion in the sky, he has started to uncover something bigger and is looking to pair up with players to help continue the investigation. As they investigate, they eventually confront the Beast of the Elderwood.
Enfield Artifact Store
It's worth noting that Eshelon has taken a particular interest in the Royal Highlands history and the legacy of the Enfields. Being a history buff at heart, he is actively seeking out artifacts scattered across the region and tasks players with helping to recover them. Players can start Amber Echo as you explore and use these to help upgrade relics.
World Updates
As the story unfolds, the world around the players respond in kind. Once they complete the Main Story Quests, players should notice several NPCs updating their locations and schedules as they react to the events of the Royal Highlands. While this expansion doesn’t include new friendship or romance quests, those stories are far from over.
