It's time to prepare as Path of Exile 2 is preparing to launch The Last of the Druids. This race event is open to everyone and sure to be an exciting one especially with the addition of the Druid along with 21 new skills.
For this upcoming event, players compete and try to be the first to kill Tavakai in Act 4. This has to be done in a Solo Self-Found Fate of the Vaal fixed layout environment. While this isn't a Hardcore Event, players incur a penalty upon death where they won't be able to move until a two and a half minute period has lapsed.
This race is also the first one to include the new Fate of the Vaal league content. In a post, the development team plans to post ladder links so players can check who's leading in real-time during each race, or check the best times after the race to see how players fare against the top players.
To join the race, all players need to do is click the "Join" button for the race in the Character Select screen. They'll then be prompted to create a character. Once they spawned in, players won't be able to move their character until the race starts.
The races are open to PC and Console with a shared prize pool. The event times and dates are:
- Race 1: March 29 at 12:00 PM (PDT)
- Race 2: April 4 at 12:00 PM (PDT)
- Race 3: April 12 at 12:00 PM (PDT)
Prizes
The Demigod's Virtue Unique item is going to be up for grabs for the top placement of each class:
- Ranger
- Sorceress
- Witch
- Monk
- Warrior
- Mercenary
- Huntress
- Druid (New)
What this means is that in each race, eight Demigod's Virtues are awarded. Future events include other classes when they're added to Early Access. As more race events are conducted in the future, the plan is to cycle through all the Demigod's items. They'll eventually represent an entire armor set that includes weaponry. That means players have the chance to collect the entire set if they're good enough.
Once each race is done, a Remove-Only stash tab is added in the core leagues where players can choose to remove the item from the tab to equip it, show it off, link it to others or keep it there as a trophy for the ages. They can even trade it away if they want.
Path of Exile 2 is separate from its predecessor but shares the commitment to a genuine free-to-play model, offering a fair gaming environment free of pay-to-win mechanisms. Expansion packs will continue to roll out for both games, offering enduring experiences for existing fans, and new ones alike. Fans of the franchise are sure to love the familiar gameplay aspects along with the fresh twists aimed at enhancing the player experience. Get Path of Exile 2 on Steam now.
