PAYDAY 3 Technical Open Beta Starts September 8

A Technical Open Beta for PAYDAY 3 is scheduled to begin September 8 and run until September 11. The goal is to have a stress test on the servers prior to the game's official launch which is on September 21.

Everyone can be a part of the Technical Open Beta especially since no key is required to access it. In terms of content, it's the same as the one featured during the technical closed beta test done in August 2023. Though it is based on a game version from April 2023, it's not a not a final representation of the official game. For developer Starbreeze Studios, this is more about identifying possible issues with the server that may come up before the launch.

Technical Open Beta Features

For the Technical Open Beta players can look forward to the original gang being playable. That means Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf. For those new to the game, these are the iconic clown-masked characters that made the series infamous. Players can also try out the bank heist where they get to choose to go on stealth and not be noticed taking the case or go loud and experience that robbery feeling. The Technical Open Beta also allows all difficulties to be playable with level cap for Infamy Level at 22 and Weapon Level Progression at 8.

The Much-Anticipated Sequel

PAYDAY 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. In the game, the legendary Payday Crew that's dreaded by both law and underworld alike is back. They've come out from their peaceful retirement and now back in the criminal world due to a new threat, one that was as result of chaos the Crew left in their wake. To identify and defeat this new threat, the Crew has to leave their Washington DC roots and move to New York City. This new location not only brings with it new challenges but also new opportunities, especially for a heister with a plan.

The versions of the game are currently being offered. The Standard Edition has the base game. The Silver Edition has the base game along with the Dark Sterling Mask, 3 Days Early Access, and 6 Months Season Pass. Finally, the Gold Edition has what's in the Silver Edition plus a 1-year Season Pass.
