The Dragon Age Community Team officially gave us a look into what we can expect on the PC experience for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. For starters, the team shared that when they were testing the game, PC actually made up 40% of the testing effort. That means more than 200,000 hours of both performance and compatibility testing.
The team went on to say that they wanted to make sure that the controls and UI offered a good experience for both KBM and controllers. As such, they did as much as 10,000 hours of user research testing. The game is thus set to feature native support for PS5 DualSense controllers with haptics support. This is in addition to the standard of Xbox controllers & keyboard + mouse. Players should be happy to know that they can seamlessly transition between controllers or keyboard + mouse in menus or even while playing.
Game Resolution
While the game does have standard resolution options, players can look forward to full support for 21:9 Ultrawide monitors. However, to enjoy the game's cinematic fully, it's important to disable the "Cinematic Aspect Ratio." This should remove the enforced black bars and let players watch the cinematics in full ultra widescreen glory. There's also the option of adjusting the FOV with an FOV slider in the Settings.
The team also revealed that a lot of the changes to the Graphics and Display Settings are going to be reflected in real time. That's right! The impacts of the changes can be seen through the cutout in the UI. This allows players to make informed decisions as they tweak the game to look exactly how they want.
Here's the display features of the PC specs of the game:
- Full Support for 21:9 Ultra Wide Resolutions
- Ability to Uncap Frame Rate
- VSync, including fractional rate VSync
- HDR Support
- Optional Upscaling (DLSS 3, FSR 2.2, XeSS)
