ATLUS announced that Persona 4 Revival is releasing to the Nintendo Switch 2 on May 20, 2027. The game invites players to step into a supernatural turn-based RPG adventure where they solve mysteries, strengthen bonds, and awaken their persona.
While the game is the fifth main installment of the Persona series, it is a remake of Persona 4 Golden, released in 2012. As part of the new announcement, a trailer has been released which can be viewed here. It retains a lot of the characteristic hybrid of traditional role-playing along with the social simulation gameplay. However, the visual, graphics, and mechanics have been overhauled. In addition, this upcoming title also integrates systems and features that were created for subsequent entries since the original release of Persona 4.
Solving the Mystery
Persona 4 Revival tells the legend of a mysterious broadcast known as the "Midnight Channel" which appears only on rainy nights. One day after it airs, a corpse is discovered in Inaba. This results in the once quiet and peaceful town in rural Japan to be suddenly thrown into turmoil.
To uncover the truth behind these chilling mysteries, players and their friends form an investigation team in order to unravel the secrets of the Midnight Channel and the bizarre murders. As their adventure unfolds, they face off against "Shadows," which are eerie manifestations of individuals' darker selves. Together, players awaken a hidden power called "Persona" and embark on a journey to prevent more tragedies while uncovering the truth behind the chaos.
