Playable Demo for Impious is Now on Steam

The demo includes the tutorial and one complete floor.

Flaman Studio announced that a playable demo for Impious is now available on Steam. This dark turn-based RPG is set inside an underground indoctrination center. It's a place where losing a fight doesn't mean death and instead it means correction.

For the demo itself, it comes with the tutorial along with one complete floor of the facility. Players can try out multiple character classes, with each one having their own strengths and weaknesses. In the game, each run is procedurally generated. That means the rooms, loot, encounters, and even the events change each time.

According to the studio, Impious is arriving in Early Access sometime in the first quarter of 2027. During this phase, the plan is to expand the facility with multiple levels, new enemies, items, and possibilities to explore.

A Different World

Impious is set in a world where human imperfection is no longer tolerated. Those deemed impious are captured and dragged underground. Players take on the role of an individual who wakes inside a system designed to break them. It's a place where each door hides a different threat and every choice leaves a mark. Players can choose to obey the rules or learn to break them.

Impious challenges players to survive through strategic combat built around an impulse management system where every turn demands a decision about which impulses to use, on whom, and when. Combined with a door system that displays the odds of what lies behind each choice, a barter economy with no currency, and a crafting system built from scavenged materials, the game rewards careful thinking over brute force.

Talking about the game, Flaman Studio Founder & Developer Enrique Gandara revealed in a statement that he didn't want to make something safe but instead a game where each system has weight and every decision matters. It's a game where players have to think instead of simply react.

Impious is the debut title from Flaman Studio. This one-person indie studio was founded and run entirely by Enrique Gándara, a developer that has more than 15 years of experience in 3D and programming. Instead of starting with something small and safe, Gandara made the decision to commit and build the game he actually wanted to play. A game that has a deep and systems-driven RPG that demands strategic thinking and rewards patience. Wishlist Impious on Steam now.
