Two Cakes Studio and Satellite235 announced that the time-limited playtest for Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon has started. This gives those who are interested to see what the game has to offer. The playtest went live on May 15 on Steam. However, there's no word yet on when it's expected to end.
The game puts players in charge of a ship and its crew. They've been tasked to dive into deep and dangerous space in order to deliver cargo and fulfill various tasks that take them across the far reaches of the cosmos. During their journey, they'll encounter enemies, new allies, and mysterious disaster sites.
Manage the Ship
Players can shape the ship to match their playstyle. They can upgrade hulls, weapons, shields, and cargo capacity. It's also important to recruit the right crew since each role plays a part. Commanders for example, help sharpen aim while in battle. Navigators on the other hand guide players to opportunities. Then there are the Engineers who patch hull breaches. Just be sure to pay them.
Explore and Fight
In Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon, each turn represents a new day in space and that means random encounters and tough choices. Players can take part in spaceship fights through tactical turn-based combat where they target ship components for strategic advantages.
A Story-Driven Adventure
It's not all jobs and battles since there are also what's known as narrative quests which reveal the secrets of the galaxy. Each sector offers unique story chains with branching paths, which means the choices of the players determine outcomes. Players can choose to mediate faction conflicts, expose conspiracies, or help communities survive. While there are decisions that shift only the story, there are others that transform entire regions and unlock new possibilities.

For those who want to join the playtest on Steam, the minimum system requirements for the PC are:

- Processor: i3 or equivalent
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
