Mariana Games announced that the free Playtest for YARETA is now available on Steam. It offers about two hours of content for everyone to enjoy. There's no keys needed and no sign-up forms.
YARETA puts players in the role of an investigator from the World Library. They get to use a sky-reaching rope in order to soar across an ancient landscape. One of the things that make the game unique is that there's no combat. Instead, what players need to do is simply reach out and touch anything that's in the world. That means creatures, plants, and even ruins. After that they have to listen to what it has to say and then try to piece together the hidden past of the land.
For the playtest, players can access the Hexagonal Great Tree Ruins. This new dungeon is located under a colossal ancient tree. Inside, players need to solve the puzzles of a lost civilization and encounter a giant deity trapped deep underground.
The playtest also sees the overworld being expanded. There are now more touchable ruins along with additional creatures around Mirror Lake. There are also hidden secrets waiting to be discovered for those who aren't in a hurry. Players can also experience the new backpack equipment system which let them attach items to the backpack and trigger unexpected effects. They can also look forward to new animations and VFX, performance optimization, Steam Deck support, and controller rumble.
For those interested to join the playtest for YARETA, the minimum system requirements for the PC are:

For those able to join the playtest, there's more exciting news. In a post, the studio revealed that anyone can stream or make videos of their playtest experience. The studio added that there's going to be "no restrictions."
