A public demo of Prelude Dark Pain is now available on Steam. The game invites players into the dark and gritty world of Statera. This is where a group of heroes fight against different enemy factions to discover the secrets behind the Dark Pain.
The release of the new demo should be good news to those excited about the game considering that it came out ahead of the Steam Next Fest this month. To celebrate this latest milestone, developer Quickfire Games has released a new trailer. Watch it here.
Going back to the demo, it offers players the chance to get that early preview of the game. It has around one hour of gameplay that includes the start of the story. It also gives a peek at the tactical combat system. The game has players form a team of four playable heroes that bring with them unique skills.
The game also introduces changes to party size limits with the cap now raised to 5. This lets players test how larger groups feel doing a Skirmish mission. In addition to Soren, Tammais, Tizon, and Maya, the roster also sees the addition of Sade. She is a proud member of the Keepers of the Veil and wields a cross as her weapon.
Prelude Dark Pain is set in a world that’s been ravaged by the Dark Pain, an ancient and mysterious source of destruction. A large extent of the territory is being ruled by the Order of the Ashen Crusade. Despite the reign of blood and terror, there are still free people who aren’t afraid to fight against the lurking evil. People like Soren and the Blue Net faction.
The reality of Statera is that it’s being torn apart by the conflict and has resulted in tears to the veil between worlds that protects it from supernatural forces. Through these rifts, the creatures of Pain can break through their reality to invade and cause even greater devastation. Players now need to make important decisions that influence both the main story and the heroes that can be recruited in battle.
Prelude Dark Pain is launching on Early Access during this Summer on PC via Steam. Wishlist the game now.
