Public Playtest for Stormforge Scheduled this July

A new gameplay trailer has been released.

Roboto Games announced that a public playtest for Stormforge is happening this July. This should give players the chance to experience the storm-ravaged world that the game offers.

In celebration of this announcement, the studio has released a new gameplay trailer which can be viewed here.

In a statement, Roboto Games Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer Mathilde Pignol shared that when it came to Stormforge, their priority has always been about players having the freedom to choose how to play the game. He added that during the private tests, the community shared their feedback and this resulted in the development of character classes.

Survive the Storms

Stormforge offers a cooperative survival experience that supports as much as eight players. It's set in a world that's been overrun by magical storms. Each storm brings with it unique dangers like tornadoes that fling rocks, trees, and enemies into the air and dust storms that reduce visibility and damage the player, to name a few. The storms have unique mechanics that change how the game is played. They're brimming with powerful resources though filled with deadly creatures.

Players get to start as a warrior, mage, or ranger. However, they can unlock extra classes by defeating bosses. It’s up to the players on how they can customize the loadout of their characters. They can mix and match skills and abilities across all unlocked classes to come up with those unique playstyles. Each time players survive a storm or finish exploring a dungeon, it gives them new skills.

Support for Modding

One of the exciting features of Stormforge is that it's going to have deep support for modding which is then combined with procedural world generation. This should let survival crafting players experience the genre in new and exciting ways. The game also allows explorers to easily play with a wide range of equipment, enemies, points of interest. Its rules in particular were created directly by the community. All of these are accessible without any separate downloads.

Stormforge is scheduled to be launched in Early Access in 2026. To join the upcoming Public Playtest, players can sign up on Steam. Wishlist the game now.
