Arc System Works America officially launched Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow. It's available for the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is also released for consoles PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch.
Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow is set in Tokyo, a time after the World Collapse. The city sees reality is being eroded with grotesque entities known as Anomalies running rampant. The story focuses on Soma Hoshigami, who has been left in a "Half-turned" state after being attacked by an Anomaly. After that, he is labeled as "Lost Property" and taken into custody by Rena Hizuki, an investigator with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Public Safety Bureau, Foreign Affairs Fifth Division, also known as the Public Safety Anomaly Response Division.
Rena and Soma
In a world that's been corrupted by Anomalies and facing total reality collapse, players take on the roles of Rena and Soma as they pursue the demonic drug "Tiny True" that’s been flooding the streets. The duo also has to uncover the truth behind "Stigmas," which are patterns carved into the body that are spreading among the youth and eroding their flesh. Then there's the mysterious cult operating from the shadows. Players need to fight and strike down powerful enemies in stylish fashion, cutting them away with flair, as you unravel the mystery of the world's transformation.
Story Progression
The story progresses by selecting locations that players can visit on the map of Tokyo. Events that occur change depending on the location visited and the time. Players can choose their destinations carefully as they search for the cause of the Anomalies' emergence.
Innovative Timeline System
One of the interesting features of the game is the Tactical Counter-Timeline combat interface. It features a dynamic and timeline-driven gauge that exposes the exact timing and nature of incoming enemy attacks. Players can use this timeline to program their own skills, shatter enemy offensives, and take complete control of the battlefield. They can also slow down time or pause the action at any moment to analyze tactical forecasts, track cooldowns, and execute precise strategies.
Whether delivering a punishing counter-attack or slipping buffs into the narrow gaps of an enemy’s onslaught, victory is determined by strategic intellect.
