They get to take on the role of the titular character Rhell as they set out on an intriguing journey to return a vanished world to its former glory.

Rhell: Warped Words & Troubled Times invites players to a magical world that's filled with cryptic encounters. They'll need to solve puzzles through unorthodox methods as curiosity is rewarded while mysteries unfold in unexpected moments of discovery.

There are a total of 14 main areas that players can explore by solving a series of puzzles. To solve the puzzles, they'll have to cast spells with the use of unique combinations of magical keywords known as "runes." Regardless of whether players interact with NPCs or explore environments, the journey is basically a reminder that something mystical is at play.

Meanwhile, the main area also holds meaningful hidden secrets and the choices that players make changes the outcome of the game. What makes this title different from other adventure games is the element of experimentation. That means players aren't guided through a pre-determined path but instead are put amidst a world which slowly reveals itself.

In a statement, game creator Alice Jarratt revealed that the magic isn't just something that players use. She added that each location brings with it traces of ancient influence and the adventure has been designed for players to uncover that history organically instead of being "told how to navigate it."
