Bad news for those who love River City Ransom: Underground. It looks like the game is leaving Steam now.
This update was revealed through a post by developer Conatus Creative. The studio shared that the game is being removed from being sold on Steam as a result of "the expiration of a licensing agreement." The delisting process it seems is already underway.
For those who already own the game, there's nothing to worry to about. This is because there's no change and the game remains available in their respective Steam Library.
There's no date mentioned in the post but over on Steam, a special promotion being offered for River City Ransom: Underground until January 6. That said, the game is available at 85% off until that date. There’s also a bundle offered that comes with a soundtrack.
River City Ransom: Underground was first released for the PC in August 2014. Then on February 2017, it was made available on Steam for Windows.
The game is set years after defeating Slick on the school rooftop. It sees Alex and Ryan return to the streets. They'll need to clear their name in a sinister kidnapping plot and along the way help a new batch of fighters. Players can earn money, unlock moves, and upgrade skills. It offers a modern take on an old classic and features more than 500 unique street fighting moves, dozens of weapons, secrets galore, and a bonus arena fighting mode.
Key features of the game include:
- Online co-op and arena death match for up to 4 players.
- A new chapter in the River City universe.
- Unlock 10 playable heroes in the story campaign, each with their own fighting style.
- 140 levels to explore, complete with hazards and secrets.
- 22 shops to upgrade your characters.
- Arena multiplayer combat mode features team selection, modifier modes, and CPU partners.
- Play as hero or villain in intense arena combat.
