Paradox Interactive announced that the Roads to Power expansion for Crusader Kings III is now available on consoles. That means players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S can now travel the open while trying to master the intricacies of imperial administration.
Roads to Power gives players the chance to start the game as a landless adventurer. They then have to make their way across a deeply researched map of the medieval world completing contracts as a problem solver or mercenary. It is in this way that they have to slowly build their power until they can claim land for themselves and their family.
Administrative Government
The expansion invites players to experience medieval rule outside of the feudal system. It makes it possible with the new style of empire management. There's a web of Governors who are jockeying for position in the empire with intrigue and power and only a truly skilled Emperor can keep these squabbling forces in line.
Influence System
One interesting feature of the expansion is the Influence System. Players can build up the influence of a character within an administrative empire and climb the rungs of bureaucracy. They'll have to raise their status in the realm and gather more power for themselves.
Wandering Nobles
Releasing for consoles alongside the Roads to Power expansion is the event pack called Wandering Nobles. It offers a collection of events that are themed around travel.
It has the New Wandering Lifestyle with three new branches. The first is Inspector where Landed characters can survey and improve their realm. In addition, Landless characters can seek environmental specialization. Second is the Wayfarer, who travel to reduce stress and pursue fame for their exploits. Finally, third is the Voyager, who can improve linguistic skills and live the life of a tourist and sightseer.
There are also new Activities that've been designed for the new Lifestyle branches. Inspection has Inspectors examine their realm and pursue improvements. Hike meanwhile sees Wayfarers reduce stress with a walk in the wilderness. Then there's the Monument Expedition which has Voyagers see special buildings in other realms.
Crusader Kings III invites players to experience the drama and intrigue of the Middle Ages. The opportunities in Crusader Kings III are indeed endless, especially with the wide range of dynamic events and life-altering decisions that’s customized to each character and situation.
