Finish Line Games announced that Robots at Midnight is scheduled to be released in 2024. It's going to be initially available for the Xbox Series X/S and PC with other platforms to follow. The game is set in an expansive 1980’s Cassette Futurist world and features intense combat, satirical robots, and giant mechanical monsters, while offering a rich narrative that's discovered through exploration.
The game follows the scrappy and unlikely hero Zoe who's searching and fighting her way across the world of Yob to learn its secrets. Yob was once a luxury destination and is now in ruins. The reason why it's become an uninviting place is because it's been overrun by robots. Some of these robots are friendly while some are truly dangerous. However, a lot of them has started to evolve and are now asking questions of what it means to be human.
Robots at Midnight is developed by the same team which created indie titles like Skully, Maize, and Cel Damage HD. Talking about the game, Finish Line Games co-founder and CEO Daniel Posner shared in a statement that they're excited to finally welcome players to the world that they've created. He added that they've long been fans of game that feature combat which require persistence and this where they took inspiration.
Fighting the Robots
