A new major update is now live in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It introduces adventurers to a new region known as the Umbral Sands. It's inspired by the iconic deserts of mainland Gielinor.
In addition to the different battles they have to face in the desert, adventurers also have to contend with the dynamic weather systems. Once that happens, they'll need to seek shelter if they want to survive. Adventurers are challenged to take on the Fuzan. To earn the right to fight this new Dragon General, they have to fight their way across the Fight Cave. Once they defeat Fuzan, adventurers can return to the Fight Cave to repeat the challenge and with it earn more rewards that include rare materials.
Fuzan though isn't the only new boss waiting for adventurers. They also need to find keys especially if they want to access the Nightmare Crucible. This challenge arena is where they get to face the worst of Ashenfall. There are also three new vaults available in the Umbral Sands region.
Then there are the new environmental hazards. The first is Sunscorch, where prolonged exposure to the sun results in adventurers withering away. Once applied, the Scorch debuff results in hydration to deplete rapidly. To survive, they'll need to avoid the sun by building shelter, sticking to shade, or even going for an adventure at night. Next is quicksand. These are areas of treacherous sand that subsume any poor adventurer who missteps when exploring. Adventurers need to find a way over these spots.
Other new content include new items, new enemies, and new buildings. Check out the complete details here.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is set in the forgotten continent of Ashenfall and a time where dragons have awoken. To survive against the threat of the Dragons, players need to level up and arm themselves before facing these threats. They'll have to follow the trail of destruction and uncover the mysteries of the continent in order to learn not only how to confront the dragons but more importantly how to overcome them.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is now on Steam Early Access and priced at $29.99.
