GSC Game World announced that Update 2.0 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is coming out on August 20. One of the big changes is the introduction of Custom Rules. How it works is that players get to customize the difficulty to fit their preferred playstyle.
For example, they can make adjustments to the individual settings and create anything from a more forgiving survival experience to something that's a truly hardcore challenge. Meanwhile, those looking for an even tougher experience can check out the Master difficulty along with the optional Expedition mode.
Visual Evolution
Players can also look forward to the overhauls being planned for the lighting and visuals of the Zone. In particular, the improved lighting gives the game that more natural and immersive look especially with more realistic shadows and reflections across the environment, whether inside buildings and in underground locations. Meanwhile, the reworked landscapes and foliage give the Zone a more organic feel.
A-Life Improvements
Update 2.0 sees A-Life bring more believable activity and encounters to the Zone. There's going to be more contested points of interest like campfires, bus stops, and other locations where stalkers and mutants can cross paths. There are also various under-the-hood fixes address issues such as enemies shooting or throwing objects through walls and unexpected overpopulation in certain areas.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl invites everyone to an immersive post-apocalyptic atmosphere through an open-world design. The Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, the game’s setting, has changed dramatically after a second massive explosion in 2006. This terrain is filled with violent mutants, deadly anomalies, and warring factions that make survival a daunting task.
