Furyu Corporation announced that the HD remastered version of EXSTETRA is launching on Steam on July 30. This reveal was made last week during "Kiss Day" in Japan.
To commemorate the announcement, an opening movie that features vocals by NU-KO has been released and can be viewed here. The video shows various "kiss" scenes that play an important vital role in the game’s battles.
EXSTETRA is set in "Amazea." It's basically Tokyo that's been fused with another world and is now fated for destruction. Players can witness for themselves the transformed city lie Shibuya and Akihabara being merged with another world. This beautiful yet decadent world was brought to life through the artwork by tokyogenso.
The game follows the story of Ryoma, a high school student who rises to be the chosen savior known as "Prisma" and tasked with confronting the coming end of the world. Along the way, Ryoma discovers candidates called "Prisma Knights." who share the same destiny of saving the world. By awakening them with his kiss, he sets out on an adventure together with his companions.
Saving the World
As a "Prisma," Ryoma is one of those who has the ability to absorb energy known as "EXS." This is the source of power in the world and can be used to defeat enemies. The power can be shared to the Prisma Knights through a kiss. Indeed, it is this kiss that awakens the Prisma Knights and serves as the key to fighting together as companions.
In addition to the kiss, there is also what's known as "Enchanting." This is a system where players can give various abilities and special effects to equipment. It serves as an important element in battle especially when trying to get the upper hand. That said, players need to gather materials while maintaining the optimal setup to get the shortest path to victory.
