The second DLC for SUPER ROBOT WARS Y is all set to be launched on February 5. Dubbed as "Awakening of a Soul," it introduces five new playable units along with sixteen new Area Missions. There's also ten new Onboard Missions and one new Assist Crew Member.
This new DLC features content that's inspired by titles such as Kotetsu Jeeg, Dynamic Planning Original (Getter Robot – The Jet-Black Drifters), and Brave of the Legend Da-Garn. Those who have the season pass can get early access starting February 3. In celebration of the upcoming DLC, Bandai Namco released a new trailer which can be viewed here.
New Update
While waiting for the new update, players can enjoy the free 1.2.0 update which comes out today. The highlight is the addition of the "Special Mission: Battle Rush 2." It's an evolved version of Battle Rush that now has 20 waves. The update also brings with it an expansion to the STG Memory system and Status Cap Unlock. The latter increases the pilot stat enhancement cap to +50 and extends the pilot level cap from Lv.99 to Lv.150.
SUPER ROBOT WARS Y challenges the Guardians of Steel to rise and conquer fate. The game features an all-star mecha cast and combines it with action-packed attack animations. It also has an upgrade system that allows players to customize the different units and pilots.
The game also features a deep and engaging original story that weaves together universes from a variety of mecha anime. In a battle to determine the world’s future, players strategically command an army on a grid-based battlefield. They can utilize their arsenal of weapons and abilities to defeat the opposing army.
One key feature of SUPER ROBOT WARS Y is the Assist Link system. What it does is allow some characters to join the battlefield as part of the Assist Crew. Players can use Assist Commands to recover HP and EN, boost a unit's attack power, and more. The Assist Crew gains valuable XP with each activation, leveling up to unlock or enhance passive abilities to help units dominate the battlefield.
