Shattered Omens is Now Live in Last Epoch

A new update has been released for Last Epoch and officially launches Shattered Omens. One of the new features is the Omen Windows.

These are random encounters that players can find across the world of Eterra. Omen Windows has a horde-based mechanic that players can encounter both in the Campaign and the Monolith. They face Omens and Fractured enemies that the Omen empowers.

The Omen Windows spawn in either endgame or campaign. It starts as early as Chapter 2. Simply entering the window area causes the encounter to begin. At the beginning of the encounter, the Omen is invincible. Then during the first phase, the Traveler has to defeat Fractured enemies while remaining inside a ring.

Leaving the ring results in a 10-second countdown to begin, with the Traveler failing the encounter if that countdown reaches zero. Re-entering the ring causes the countdown to slowly increase back to 10 seconds. As the Traveler kills Fractured enemies, a progress bar at the bottom of the screen fills up. Phase 2 begins when the bar is full with the Omen consuming the remaining Fractured enemies to empower itself and become vulnerable to damage.

Once the Omen is defeated, loot then drops that include a new currency and items. The list of possible rewards are:

Timeglass Fragments

Runes of Corruption

Corrupted items

Omen Idols

Idol Altars

It's worth noting that Omen Windows come in several tiers of difficulty that gradually increase across the Traveler’s time in Eterra. Higher tiers drop more Timeglass Fragments and loot and have increased chances to drop rare Idol Altars.

Greater Omen Windows

There are also Greater Omen Windows which spawn at the end of Omen Window Echo Chains in the Monolith of Fate. It has more challenging enemies in Phase 1 and two Omens to defeat in Phase 2.

Once a Greater Omen Window is completed, a Timeglass Core then forms. There are two ways for the Traveler to interact with the core. Players can spend Timeglass Fragments which results in spawning an Echo Chain of their choice. They can shatter it to obtain additional Timeglass Fragments.

Timeglass Fragments

Timeglass Fragments are a new currency that can be exchanged for various rewards such as Runes of Corruption, Omen’s Veil Woven Echo, crates of corrupted items, and more. Timeglass Fragments can be spent by talking with Apophis at the center of the Monolith of Fate.
