A lot of changes have been implemented for the Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE. As a result, the game now offers deeper and more refined action once launched. The game's combat system being worked on is one that should excite players even more.
In a post, Netmarble revealed that the combat system developed goes beyond simple hack-and-slash. Because of this, it maximizes the thrill of strategic decision-making and precise control. Sung Jinwoo’s growth for example is completely in the hands of the players. They can choose and develop different skill trees. That means depending on the player, Jinwoo can have a completely different combat style.
Depth of Combat
There are three parts to the depth of combat. The first is the Monarch Transformation system. This is a powerful feature where Sung Jinwoo gets to awaken as the Monarch of Shadows. In this form, he releases devastating skills that overwhelm enemies and dominate the battlefield.
Next is the parry system where players get to precisely block enemy attacks. It results in that thrill of skillful control and heightening the tension of each encounter. Those able to successfully parry an attack can trigger a QTE, which allows players to exploit enemy openings and land a devastating counterstrike.
Finally, there's the hit impact and damage feedback. Each sensation has been amplified so that fights offer unmatched immersion. It makes players feel as if they're truly in the battles themselves.
Overdrive System
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE also has what's known as the Overdrive System. What it does is maximize the skill tree of Sung Jinwoo and lets him dominate the battlefield. For example, when players use the "Duel" skill tree, a special gauge appears on the battle HUD. Once the gauge is filled to 100%, they can then release a powerful skill specialized for that tree.
The system also showcases the individuality of each of the Hunters. Take the case of Hunter Choi Jong-In. He can release meteors around him after applying Burn to enemies a certain number of times.
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE is based on the webtoon Solo Leveling. Wishlist the game on Steam now.
