Wicked Champions are set to make their presence felt in The Battlerealm. Marvel Contest of Champions sees the Summoner's Choice 2026 making its official debut.
The Summoner's Choice 2026 is Colossus but the Age of Apocalypse version. His background remains the same which is a Soviet Super Soldier who can turn into a steely mutant freedom fighter. This version of Piotr Rasputin is a severe and erratic force fighting against the Age of Apocalypse. The thing is, life-threatening battle wounds have left him unable to revert to his human form. Colossus joins the roster on October 15.
Vengeance is Here
The second Champion being added to the roster is the Ghost Rider, though it's the Robbie Reyes version. This young mechanic from East Los Angeles experiences a tragic event which results in him being bonded to a powerful supernatural spirit, who is none other than his late uncle Eli Morrow. The Spirit of Vengeance arrives on October 29.
Closer to the Edge
A new event sees Doctor Strange and Spider-Man 2099 being missing for months. Suddenly the two finally reappear only to notify The Summoner that this twisted Web of Corruption is far from over. It seems that The Battlerealm itself is splitting apart at the seams and nothing is as it seems. A call for help has been issued and it results in Colossus (Age of Apocalypse) and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) getting dragged into this bedlam. Hopefully, the two can restore reality and push back this latest wave of corruption.
The Closer to the Edge event runs from October 7and all the way through November 4.
A New Threat
In addition to the new Champions being added to the roster, there's also a new Epilogue Boss. Prepare to meet the Chronoserpent, a being who claims to be a Summoner from another Multiverse. The Chronoserpent craved power and pierced the dimensional veil in order to gain first-hand experience of the strength they could only control from afar. This results in them recruiting, altering, and empowering the Champions who became corrupted Ouroborus Bosses.
Marvel Contest of Champions invites players to step into The Battlerealm and experience epic 1v1 combat. It features various Super Heroes and Villains from across the Marvel Universe. The game was first released on mobile platforms through iOS and Android. Then in June 2025 it was made available for PC and fully optimized for mouse, keyboard, and controller on the big screen.
