Funcom announced that Norwegian singer Helene Bøksle is back in the world of Conan. Tracks where she performs have been added to Conan Exiles Enhanced.
Helene Bøksle is one of the most celebrated vocalists of Norway. She has nine solo albums along with tens of millions of streams. She's also had collaborations with different artists like Secret Garden and Brendan Graham.
The thing about Helene Bøksle is that while she's known to millions of gamers around the world, most of them probably don't know her name. In the world of Conan, she performed the vocal tracks on the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures soundtrack. These include "Ere the World Crumbles," a song that helped the score win the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score in a Video Game. Indeed, for a generation of players, her voice was part of the experience.
However, in 2011 her music was included in the manifesto that was released during the Utøya terror attack. This tragedy saw 77 people killed, most of them being teenagers. While it was an association she never chose, it followed her for years.
Now, she's taking her voice back by re-recording the rearranged songs. These are the same ones added to Conan Exiles Enhanced. To get an idea, listen to "Ere the World Crumbles" here.
Conan Exiles Enhanced is an upgrade that moves Conan Exiles into Unreal Engine 5. It unifies eight years of post‑launch content while at the same time give the world of Conan a sweeping visual refresh. Changes include the sharply improved environments, character models, lighting, and effects. There's also the redesigned UI along with numerous QoL upgrades.
One of the key features of Conan Exiles Enhanced is that it allows players to freely travel between The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah. This is because the two massive regions have been integrated and connected which resulted in eliminating the need to choose a map at character creation or start over to explore both. In addition, the multiplayer servers can host both regions simultaneously which should expand the playable space for communities that own the Siptah expansion.
