Spirittea Reports $1 Million in Sales within First Week of Launch

Developer Cheesemaster Games announced that Spirittea had earned $1 million in sales during the first week of launch. In addition, more than 150,000 players have been playing the game.

In a statement, Cheesemaster Games revealed that development costs have pretty much been made back three times over. As such, the plans to expand the game is secured. For now, players can look forward to constant updates, particularly fixung issues that have been found by the community. Once that's done, work for the new and free content can then begin.

Going back to the sales, it looks like a large part was due to those buying for the Nintendo Switch. The studio shared that the game has even appeared in Top Sellers charts in almost every region on the Nintendo eShop. A lot of players also got the game through the Game Pass subscription service.

Spirittea takes you to a town that's crawling with troublemaking spirits. The reason why they've become lost is because humans have stopped worshipping them or leaving offerings. There are even humans that seem to not think about them anymore. To help them remember themselves, players need to help the spirits solve their problems. It can be as simple as giving them some spicy noodles or look and dig up their lost treasure.

Aside from spirits, players also need to deal with the townspeople. Each one has their own schedules, likes, dislikes and even hobbies.

The Bathhouse

One of the main features of the game is that bathhouse. It's an ancient spirit building hidden up in the mountain and players need to clean it up if they want it to be full of customers. It won't be enough to have the spirits in the bathhouse. That's because once inside the spirits are going to need clean towels and heated baths. Remember that each spirit has their own preferences and players need to know all of them.

Once the bathhouse is ready and the towels are clean, it's time to deliver that five-star service. Pamper the spirits with food that's straight from the kitchen while giving them a good scrub. Another important thing is to make sure the water is perfect for each spirit. It's not just about the right temperature but also the correct mix of different elixirs.

Finally, the attitude of the spirits also matters. What that means is spirits have others that they like best and others that they don't want to spend time with. Don't just seat spirits together.
