Starpath Invites You to Build a Starship and Explore the Universe

The game is a passion project of a Swedish veteran game developer.

A new space sim is in the works with Starpath. It invites players to build their starship alone or with friends as they explore a seamless universe. They can plot a course, burn thrusters, and chill out in a retro tech ship.

The game is being worked on by Swedish veteran game developer Jonathan Smårs. In terms of gaming, his background includes being the Lead Engineer & Designer on Valheim for the past five years. For Starpath, it has been his passion project and this latest announcement is a way of sharing the development journey. With Starpath, Smårs tries to avoid the tropes and bridges the gaps between space sim, survival craft and cozy game.

Starpath gives players the chance to experience the interstellar journey of their dreams. They can build their own spaceship, aim for the stars and engage thrusters. It focuses on the feeling of being in and exploring space. Developer Smårs assures everyone that the team remains committed to offering an authentic astronaut experience while still being focused on fun and creativity.

Uncover the Secrets

In the game, players wake up on a space station with no knowledge of the situation or how long they've been there. The only thing that's clear is that they can't return to earth. It's up to players to decide whether they follow the instructions on the screen or set out on their own journey.

Design & Build

The game has players design and build the interstellar ship of their dreams. It's one where each button can be pushed and every system customizable. It's also one where every screen has a purpose. Players should be happy to know that the simple and powerful building system allows for various parts to be used.

They can come up with a cozy, livable, and functional home for deep space voyages. They can even make the ship a rotating van Braun wheel to get that artificial cylindrical gravity. Of course, it's important to ensure that the ship is air tight so that it not only holds an atmosphere but also creates pressure chambers in case of a hull breach for asteroid damage.
